Sandy’s Sugar Cookies
As promised, here is Sandy's sugar cookie recipe! Cream together: 1/2 cup soft shortening 3/4 cup sugar 1 egg Stir in: 1 Tablespoon milk or cream 1 teaspoon lemon extract 1 1/2 cups flour 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt Chill dough (overnight is best) Roll dough very thinly onto a floured surface (add more flour if dough is really sticky). In November, We Celebrate Maia!

Enjoying Too Much Halloween Candy?
Halloween was pretty perfect this year, not only did it fall on a Saturday, but we had beautiful weather too! Like most holidays, we tend to indulge a bit too much. I know I have had my fair share of sweets over the past few days. Just how many sweets have our kids had? It's extra important to make sure our kids are doing a good job brushing their teeth, especially right after Halloween. Most children do not have the dexterity to brush their teeth until 6 or 7 years old. Even then, parents need to check their children's teeth when they are done brushing.
